Hunsley Primary opened in Melton, near Brough, in September 2015 as East Yorkshire’s first free school. The school offers parents additional choice regarding where to send their child and will also cater for the increase in demand for primary school places in the local area covering Brough, Welton, Elloughton, South Cave, Swanland, North Ferriby, Hessle, Anlaby, Willerby and Kirk Ella.
Hunsley Primary offers its pupils an outstanding education that helps them to develop as confident, lively thinkers with enquiring minds. Our ‘big questions’ and thematic investigations enable children to learn through discovery and observation, developing their ability to think mathematically and scientifically and find creative, problem-solving solutions.
Hunsley Primary is currently located on the same site as South Hunsley School in Melton; however, it will relocate to a brand new building and permanent site on the Brough South housing development. Horncastle and the DfE are funding the construction works to ensure families who move into Brough and the surrounding area can access primary places in a school run by the outstanding multi academy trust that also manages South Hunsley School.
