Hunsley Primary is located on the Brough South housing development in Brough, East Yorkshire. We moved into our brand new home at the end of 2018, enjoying the benefits of the learning spaces in our modern, spacious school building.
Whilst our permanent home was being built, Hunsley Primary was located alongside South Hunsley, its partner academy school, in Melton. We opened on this site in a distinct and discrete building, completely separate from the secondary school. The Department for Education transformed our school building into an outstanding learning environment, fully equipped with technological equipment to support the delivery of Hunsley Primary’s vision.
The Brough South housing development in Brough is being built south of the main Hull to Doncaster railway line and east of Skillings Lane in Brough. The location of Hunsley Primary on this new development has changed from the original plan, something which we are particularly delighted about as it places Hunsley Primary at the heart of the community and means the school has been built immediately after the road infrastructure is established.
Hunsley Primary was brought forward to the north of the Brough South development and nestled amongst the new housing which will be built straight off Moor Road. This was fantastic news for families as it will meant Hunsley Primary was much closer to where they live and we are more accessible to them.
It also meant that Hunsley Primary was built immediately after the road infrastructure was established which ensured that we moved into our permanent home in the first phase of the housing development.
Our permanent school building is designed to offer a stimulating, engaging and outstanding learning experience and gives our pupils access to the latest technological equipment and provides some of the best facilities in the area, including specialist scientific resources that are rarely seen in primary schools.
