Season’s Greetings! I do hope that this finds you well and avoiding the winter bugs out there. And maybe, even, nearly ready for the holiday season.

It’s a pleasure to send you all best wishes for a happy, restful and peaceful time over the next couple of weeks and into the New Year ahead. Last week, in Year 5 RE, we were thinking about Christmas peace and what that might mean, not just for us, but for people around the world. I was so impressed with Year 5 when they talked about peace between countries, communities and friends, reminding each other that peace begins with themselves – very grown-up thinking!

This week, the children have been an avid audience watching the school guitarists and Mrs Fountain from the East Riding music service, demonstrating their skills and leading their friends in a round of Christmas songs. It’s a testament to their practice and hard work when they perform. Well done, Hunsley guitar-players. We also enjoyed Mrs Russell’s Christmas assembly yesterday – a reminder about the importance of kindness, no matter the time of year.

HP Families – It is unusual for us to finish term on a Thursday, so I also hope everyone has made a note not to come in this Friday! May I extend my thanks to you all on behalf of the team for the end of term cards, gifts and wishes – you are really kind to send these in and we thank you all for your thoughtfulness and generosity. So, a final Happy Christmas, Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings – and a heartfelt Happy New Year to you all. We look forward to seeing the children in January!
