Welcome to World Book Day at Hunsley Primary and to the latest Newsletter! We hope that everyone is having a positive week.
Today, the children are coming in their most comfy clothes to celebrate reading. I am sure they will love wearing their cosy PJs, warm cardigans, soft trackies, school PE kit or whatever helps them to sit, relax and enjoy reading. Our lunch menu is also having a themed makeover! The children are taking part in reading-related activities and also undertaking challenges – our favourite is the ‘guess the reader’ challenge with staff in fabulous disguises!
Thank you to the Hunsley Primary Parent Partners for putting on the disco tonight, too. We look forward to seeing the children there. There will also be some creative activities for children to do in the Hall between dances. If your child likes to wear ear-defenders when dancing, if they don’t have a pair in school, please bring these in with you.
Finally from me this week, a reminder about the growing traffic on Bluebird Way. You’ll have spotted the hazard signage at the top of the road, but we will still have an increase in vehicles accessing the area for the coming months with both the Starbucks and the Home Bargains projects planned for completion later in the summer. Take care and please could I remind the younger children to stay with their adults at all times when accessing or leaving the site.
Wishing you all a weekend full of exciting reading and stories when it comes, hopefully inspired by today!
Yours sincerely,
Lucy Hudson
Headteacher
