Hunsley Primary Newsletter – 5 October 2026

Welcome to the Newsletter!

Let’s start with a fantastic achievement – the school has been given the Music Mark, in recognition of the way we work to promote music skills and a love of the subject in school. Well done to all the children and staff for this super achievement, and thank you, Miss Clark, for leading the subject. We are particularly looking forward to the end of half term class music showcases this year, and hope you will be able to join us for some of our musical events.

This week, Sovereign Play are coming on-site to build the new Trim Trail. We are very excited. We hope that this will lead to some fun times for all the children and also hope to work with our HPPPs on some additional fund-raising for further panels, activities and challenges in the future!

A HUGE ‘well done’ to our enterprising Year 6s who have been so dedicated to helping others this summer. In taking part in their Lifestyle project, the team has raised £200 for eco-projects in school and have made a real difference to local lives. Thank you to all three children for being Hunsley Primary Stars! Why not read all about them by following this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19U7iWJy5u/

We have also received an encouraging letter from Energy Sparks, sending the children and Mrs Mutter lots of positive feedback! Well done, everyone in school for supporting our eco-goals.

Finally, it was lovely to see everyone who dropped by for our Open Event last week – these events are for everyone, not just new Reception families, and we would love to see you all there at the next one in December, to have a chat with staff, check out the activities and have a look in your child’s classroom 😊

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Yours sincerely,

Lucy Hudson
