Reception pupils and parents have given generously to make disadvantaged children halfway round the world very happy this Christmas.
Donating a range of gifts and goodies from loom bands and laces to stripy socks and stickers, the children had fun bringing in ready-made wrapped boxes and also putting together collaborative boxes for their ‘Christmas Friends’ oversees. When Mrs Wilkinson came to collect our boxes this week, she was delighted to discover that our Reception class have managed to donate even more boxes than we have children!
Real Aid is a local charity which collects and delivers thousands of shoeboxes filled with gifts to disadvantaged children in places such as Eastern Europe and Africa.
Our children’s enthusiasm for giving was infectious! During a week where we have spent a lot of time thinking of others and remembering their acts of kindness, it has been a delight to see how keen our children are to share.
Well done , Reception – your faces say it all!
