Walking Bus Investigation

Reception had a super time last week on their Walking Bus Investigation. Setting out for a fact-finding walk along East Dale Road, morning and afternoon, for two days, allowed the children to observe the changing seasonal light, collect data on traffic (in preparation for Road Safety Week), explore shapes in the environment and connect up all the elements of their learning from the week.

The children have been investigating the ‘importance of light’ across a range of subjects, from Diwali to electronic circuits, space exploration to Bonfire Night and the Gunpowder Plot.

The walk also gave pupils a glimpse of the changing weather, as distant rain showers brought out a striking rainbow for the children to study. Armed with clipboards, the children returned to school this week with data to collate and findings to report.

Well done, Reception! We look forward to the return of the Walking Bus in the summer term, when the sun is shining and the wind is a little less chilly in temperature!
